Find and apply for an education grant that can help you support your educational enhancement initiatives. Dell and Intel® provide you an overview of available 2012–2013 education grants and their respective deadlines.
To help your chances of having your grant proposals accepted, Dell and Intel offer the following writing tips:
- Edit it: There is no good writing, only good rewriting. Great writers do this instinctively
- Plan ahead: This will give you time to rewrite. Wait two days to begin the editing process
- Don't do it alone: Take advantage of spelling and grammar-checking tools. Share the document with colleagues, and ask for their insights and reactions
- Keep it short: Short sentences and paragraphs are easier to understand
- Use active voice: Active verbs add energy and reveal who is speaking and taking action
- Avoid vague words: Use accurate and exact words to make your point
- Avoid education jargon and buzzwords: Clear and direct language always wins over long-winded and heavy-handed words
- Be specific: Don't leave the grant reader guessing at what you mean
- Write like you talk: Grant writing is not lawyer writing. Don't worry if it sounds too informal. You can adjust the tone in a rewrite
