In early 2007, Dell commissioned Forrester Research to examine the financial impact and potential return on investment (ROI) an organization might realize from implementing Dell’s server consolidation and virtualization solutions, hereafter referred to as the Dell Solution. To determine the impact, Forrester examined the specific costs, benefits, flexibility, and risk elements that a Dell retail customer experienced when it implemented the Dell Solution. This Organization, which has chosen to remain anonymous, is a large grocery store chain doing business primarily in the southwestern US.
