Dell and Microsoft Extend Remote User Experience with 3-D Graphics

Traditionally it has been difficult to deliver multimedia 3D graphics and other rich media to remote users. That's no longer the case with Microsoft® RemoteFX, which offers new choices for supporting users from a centralized computing infrastructure.

Dell™ will provide IT administrators with options for supporting users with RemoteFX-capable client devices in ways that ensure an optimum user experience. Dell and Microsoft are working together to certify multiple Dell server platforms and GPUs with RemoteFX via the Windows® Hardward Quality Labs (WHGL) certification process. And along with multiple partners, Dell is assessing, testing and refining multiple combinations and configurations of RemoteFX, including:

• Dell PowerEdge™ R710 and Dell PowerEdge M610x blade
• Dell PowerEdge C410x
• NVIDIA® M2070Q and AMD V7800P GPUs

The end-to-end Dell approach entails an ongoing close collaboration and integration of Microsoft solutions and platforms with an ecosystem of Dell client devices, as well as client solutions for a variety form factors and end-user cases. For example, Dell Services offerings are being refreshed to support Windows Server® 2008 R2 SP1, including RemoteFX and related capabilities.
