  • Track Your Delivery

    You can track the delivery of your order online after it has been shipped. A link will be available within My Order Status for you to track your order through to the carrier's Web site.

    To keep you informed, we’ll send you an Order Shipped email as soon as it has been shipped. This email will contain your estimated delivery date, and tracking and delivery information.

    Tracking information availability — It may take up to three days after an order has been shipped for tracking information to appear online. If you cannot track your order and the estimated delivery date has not yet passed, do not be worried.

  • Shipping Methods and Carriers

    Dell partners with industry leading carriers for each shipping delivery option, and we will use the most appropriate carrier to deliver your order. When you select Next Business Day or Two (2) Business Day shipping, we may use air or ground shipping to deliver your order within the selected time frame.

    Most orders ship on a parcel carrier such as FedEx or UPS. However, if your order is very heavy (> 150 pounds) or contains a large number of packages, your order may be palletized and shipped on an LTL (less than truckload) or heavyweight air carrier.   • Delivery Signature

    Most of our shipments contain valuable items, so our carriers are required to obtain a signature upon delivery for equipment orders valued at $300 or more, and for shipments of ink and toner valued at $100 or more.

    After placing your order, we can no longer change your delivery address. In case no one is available to sign for the shipment at the delivery address on the delivery date, we offer the following options:

    Option 1 — Arrange for someone to be home the day after the first delivery attempt.
    If you are not available when the carrier makes the first delivery attempt, the driver will leave a delivery notice at your door and make a second delivery attempt on the next business day. You can arrange for another adult to take the delivery on your behalf on that day — as long as it’s at the same address.

    The carrier will generally make three delivery attempts before your package is returned to Dell.

    Option 2 — Sign the carrier’s delivery notice after the first delivery attempt.
    After the first delivery attempt, you can sign a release authorization and select your preferred delivery location on this form — front or back door, immediate neighbor or building manager.

    Option 3 — After the first delivery attempt, pick up your package at the carrier’s local office.
    You can request the carrier to hold the package at the local terminal for you to pick up. Just call the number on the form and ask them to hold your shipment for pickup. Carrier terminals are generally open during business hours (8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.).

    To pick up your shipment, you need two forms of identification:

    • Government-issued ID (driver’s license, passport or residency card) that matches the name on the package
    • Second ID with your name on it (credit card, social security card and others)
    Residential deliveries — The driver may also attempt to deliver to your neighbor or building manager.

  • Electronics, Software & Accessories Delivery

    If you order electronics, software and accessories and select Economy (3–5 Business Day) or Standard (5–7 Business Day) shipping, we may use UPS Mail Innovations or UPS SurePost, and your package will be delivered by the U.S. Postal Service (USPS):

    • Packages weighing less than one (1) pound may ship on UPS Mail Innovations. The tracking number will be a USPS Delivery Confirmation Number.
    • Packages weighing one (1) to five (5) pounds may ship on UPS SurePost. The tracking number will be a normal UPS tracking number starting with “1Z”.
    • Packages shipped on either service are delivered to your mailbox or door via the USPS. In rare cases, when the mail package cannot fit in your mailbox or left in a secure place, the mail carrier may leave a peach colored Delivery Notice form (PS Form 3849) on your door with redelivery or pickup instructions. If you have this form, you may also arrange redelivery on the USPS Web site at USPS Redelivery Service.

      Both UPS Mail Innovations and UPS SurePost shipments can be tracked on UPS.com from pickup to delivery (the same way a UPS Ground shipment is tracked).

  • Multiple-Items Delivery

    If your order contains multiple items, they may ship separately and arrive on different dates.

    When your order (or part of your order) ships, we will send you an Order Shipped email, with the estimated delivery date and the delivery information for every shipped item.

    If everything you ordered is not listed on the Order Shipped email, check the status of the unlisted items. Follow the link to check the status of every item from the Order Shipped email or go to My Order Status.

    After the remaining items (if any) ship, we will send you a separate Order Shipped email.

  • Can I Change My Delivery Address?

    As soon as you have submitted your order, the delivery address is verified. To help prevent fraud, we cannot change your delivery address after your order has been submitted and verified.

    Remember, if you aren't available to accept delivery on the delivery day, we offer alternative options. Read the Delivery Signature topic for more information.

  • Can I Change My Delivery Method?

    Dell accepts orders promptly, and we are unable to change your delivery method after you have submitted your order.

    The carrier can only deliver your order based on the delivery method and address you provided at the time your order was placed.

    Remember, if you are not available to accept delivery on the delivery day, we offer alternative options. Read the Delivery Signature topic for more information.

  • What Are the Delivery Options?

    When you place your order, you can choose from the following delivery options. Each option differs in cost and in speed of delivery. Here are your options:

    • Next-business-day delivery (fastest delivery option): Your order will be delivered on the next business day after it is shipped from Manufacturing, not from the time your order was placed.
    • Second-business-day delivery (fast delivery): Your order will be delivered two business days after it is shipped from Manufacturing, not from the time your order was placed.
    • Three-to-five-day delivery (economy delivery): Your order will be delivered three to five business days after it is shipped from Manufacturing, not from the time your order was placed.
    • Seven-day delivery (standard delivery option): Your order will be delivered five to seven business days after it is shipped from Manufacturing, not from the time your order was placed.
    Please note: HDTVs are delivered 5-7 business days after your order is built and shipped from Manufacturing, not from the time your order was placed.

  • HDTV Deliveries

    Due to the size of the box, HDTVs are delivered by an LTL (Less than Truckload) carrier, Pilot Freight Services, with a 5–7 business day ground service level.

    • After your order ships, tracking information will be visible on Pilot’s Web site within 24–48 hours.
    • Pilot requests a delivery appointment, and will attempt to contact you by phone once their local station receives your order.
    • For your convenience, you may schedule your HDTV delivery at Pilot’s Web site using your Pilot tracking number and delivery zip code: Schedule HDTV Home Delivery

    Additional information regarding your HDTV delivery:

    • Pilot cannot deliver to a different address or contact person than shown on the shipping label. If you have an address or contact change, please go to My Order Status for information on How to Contact Dell Order Support.
    • Pilot requires that the person listed on the shipping label sign for the delivery. They will make up to three  delivery attempts.
