Ryerson University wanted to take advantage of a Data Center Incentive Program offered by Toronto Hydro to earn a rebate based on energy conservation, so it selected Dell PowerEdge blade servers to replace its legacy environment.

Migrating legacy applications that run on proprietary and power-hungry hardware to more efficient equipment such as Dell blade technology can yield great power savings. This project was in keeping with Ryerson’s green initiatives and sustainability plan, and exemplifies the efforts and ways in which IT can support the university’s goals and objectives.
