Novell School and Academic Volume Licensing

Novell School and Academic Volume Licensing

Dell cares about getting the best for Novell customers. That's because we're more than a Novell reseller — we're a customer too. That makes us your biggest and best advocate with Novell. We can take care of your volume licensing and fulfill your licenses as well.

Novell offers education organizations flexible options that lower your software ownership costs and help you spend less time on software acquisition. That means you'll have more time to focus on your true mission: Education.

Novell® School License Agreement (SLA) is designed for K−12 schools and Academic License Agreement (ALA) is designed for colleges and universities. Both programs allow you to choose the Novell products you want and to pay a low annual subscription fee for usage. Your subscription gives you the right to use your Novell products across your entire organization.

Talk to your Dell account manager about the product choices and combinations available. Be sure to ask for the SLA or ALA form and associated worksheets from Novell to begin the process of utilizing Novell's subscription programs.

Upgrade Protection
The software you license through the SLA or ALA program is automatically covered with Upgrade Protection, ensuring you always have access to the latest version of the software and lowering the cost of software procurement.

Perpetual License Options
In some cases, you may prefer to own product licenses. You can do so under Novell's Volume License Agreement (VLA) for Education program. With no initial purchase requirement, VLA for Education is identical to the standard VLA program, but at higher discount levels.

This option is available to all academic customers, regardless of participation in the ALA or SLA programs. You may choose to enroll in the ALA or SLA in order to subscribe to a specific set of products each year, and choose to purchase perpetual licenses through the VLA Program for other products. Ask your Dell account manager for more information about VLA for Education.
