IBM Passport Advantage Licensing
IBM® Passport Advantage Express (PAX) includes software from IBM’s DB2®, WebSphere®, Lotus®, Tivoli® and Rational software brands. Unlike the tiered pricing program of Passport Advantage®, Passport Advantage Express is a transactional program consisting of one pricing tier. Since this program is a transactional program, accumulation of points will not result in a level change at the customer’s IBM anniversary date.
Passport Advantage Express is best suited for the single-site, midsized organization that prefers to remain unencumbered by a further-reaching relationship. Software maintenance is included with all licenses purchased under Passport Advantage Express — providing the customer with full technical support and timely upgrades on their purchases.
Relationship Suggested Volume Price (RSVP) Level
If you're a new customer, your initial purchase determines the RSVP level. The date of that initial purchase, rounded up to the first day of the following month in most cases, determines your anniversary. The anniversary is used to determine the software maintenance renewal date, as well as the annual date on which your RSVP will be reviewed. At each anniversary, your purchases for the previous 12 months are automatically reviewed and the new RSVP Level is established according to how many Passport Advantage points you acquired during that period. These points are then referred to as the carryover points and are used to help determine if you are eligible for an improvement in your RSVP Level.
