Dell Management Console Deployment Options

• Install DMC yourself, assisted by our online deployment resources.
  DMC is included at no charge with Dell PowerEdge™ servers. You can also download it.
• Purchase a Dell PowerEdge™ R200 rack server with DMC preinstalled (known as the DMC Appliance from NetX).
  The DMC Appliance supports management of up to 3,000 client systems from a single Web browser-based console. It is designed for rapid deployment right out of the box using a simple three-step configuration process. The hardware is built and supported by the Dell Custom Factory Integration service and includes an extendable one-year warranty for on-site, next-business-day service.
  Two configurations are available: a basic configuration and an enhanced configuration. The enhanced configuration offers more powerful processors, larger hard drives and redundant power supplies. The enhanced configuration is especially appropriate if you plan to run additional Altiris™ management software on the appliance.
  Options available with a DMC Appliance include:
  • Altiris Client Management Suite™ software, which offers a wide range of powerful client management features, including systems inventory, software distribution, application usage monitoring, power management and IT report generation
  • A three-day remote consulting engagement to assist you in deploying the appliance
• We can install DMC for you.
  Dell Services offers a five-day DMC accelerator consulting engagement at your location. We'll help you install DMC and teach you a variety of best practices to help you get the most out of your systems management. Two types of engagements are available: one focused on server management and one focused on client management.
