Dell Versus Sun Servers: R910 Performance Comparison SPECint_rate_base2006

To compare the processor performance of the Dell™ PowerEdge™ R910 server to the Sun™ SPARC Enterprise M5000 and T5440 servers, Principled Technologies (PT) used the SPECint_rate_base2006 test of the industry-standard SPEC CPU2006 benchmark suite.

The Dell PowerEdge R910 server outperformed the Sun SPARC M5000 server by 158.8 percent and the T5440 server by 104.4 percent.

  • The Dell PowerEdge R910 server achieved a SPECint_rate_base2006 score of 691.
  • The Sun SPARC Enterprise M5000 and T5440 servers, respectively, achieved SPECfp_rate_base2005 scores of 267 and 338.
