Dell Versus Sun Servers: PowerEdge R910 and R810 Java Comparison

To compare the processor performance of the Dell™ PowerEdge™ R910 and R810 servers to the Sun™ SPARC Enterprise T5240 server, Principled Technologies, Inc. used the SPECjbb2005 benchmark suite.

The Dell PowerEdge R910 server outperformed the Sun SPARC server by 120.3 percent, and the Dell PowerEdge R810 outperformed the Sun SPARC servers by 123.2 percent. The results are as follows:

  • The Dell PowerEdge R910 and R810 servers achieved SPECjbb2005 scores of 931,315 and 943,614 respectively.
  • The Sun SPARC Enterprise T5240 server achieved a SPECjbb2005 score of 422,782.
