As a result of Dell’s collaboration with Microsoft and Novell, our customers can implement comprehensive interoperability solutions with Dell PowerEdge™ servers running Windows Server® 2008 with Hyper-V™ and SUSE® Linux® Enterprise 10. This solution makes it possible for customers to host virtual machines running SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 on top of the Windows Server 2008 operating system, using Hyper-V virtualization technology.
Through combined work on virtualization, standards-based systems management and identity management, the Microsoft and Novell interoperability partnership enables customers to consolidate workloads to help increase efficiency and flexibility. Dell’s expansive family of award-winning servers can provide simple integration and maximum reliability, perfect for virtual zing heterogeneous IT environments.
The Windows | Linux Interoperability solution is a tested and validated solution that is ideal for customers who want a paid Linux distribution to help protect mission critical applications. This solution makes it possible for customers to leverage their existing investments and streamline systems to help control costs, reduce complexity and drive the business effectively. Currently, Dell is the only member of the Microsoft and Novell collaboration with a blades solution in the Microsoft and Novell Interoperability Lab.
