Dell Database Server Solutions Handled Growing Business Needs

When selecting a server, it is crucial that you choose one that can handle the number of orders you will incur. An analysis by Principled Technologies demonstrates that Dell™ servers can meet the needs of business databases no matter what the size or demand.
Using the open-source DVD Store Version 2 (DS2) benchmark, Principled Technologies tested how many orders per minute (OPM) could be managed by the Dell PowerEdge™ T410, PowerEdge R510 and PowerEdge R710. The servers ran varying numbers of SQL Server® 2008 R2 Standard instances to show performance scaling. Test findings are as follows:
- The Dell PowerEdge T410 achieved 7,942 OPM.
- The Dell PowerEdge R510 achieved 61,110 OPM.
- The Dell PowerEdge R710 achieved 165,191 OPM.
