Dell and Kaminario
Dell and Kaminario have teamed up to reduce bottlenecks and improve data retrieval performance for banks, credit card companies and securities firms.
We collaborate to provide greater performance, higher throughput and lower latency by pairing the Kaminario K2 appliance with Dell™ PowerEdge™ M610 and M710 blade servers. Kaminario K2 uses DRAM (dynamic random access memory) and Flash to make your data available more quickly. With this speed, you can comply with regulatory reporting deadlines and analyze critical transaction data with minimal input/output (I/O) wait time.
The Kaminario K2 appliance has been optimized for Oracle®, MS SQL and SAS applications. Compare its DRAM and Flash solid-state drive (SSD) read-write rates to those of hard disk drives and RAID-based approaches to storage. The K2 appliance is fast, safe and easy. It manages data over a distributed grid of modular ioDirectors and DRAM or Flash SSD-based data nodes, both based on Dell blade servers. As its patented storage operating system dynamically balances the load, the Kaminario K2 delivers extremely low latency and high throughput. High availability is assured by the reliability of the Dell PowerEdge blade servers and the redundancy of all of the Kaminario K2's components and subsystems. The system takes less than a day to deploy and supports most applications and databases without data modeling or program changes.
