The Brooklyn Hospital Center (TBHC) and Dell Services announced today an agreement in which Dell Services will provide the 464-bed, Brooklyn, N.Y.-based hospital with revenue cycle services.
As part of the seven-year agreement, Dell Services will provide technology, staffing and educational support in several departments, including admitting, ambulatory registration, insurance verification, health information management, patient accounting, case management, clinical documentation, and social work services. The management expertise and operational delivery provided by Dell will allow TBHC to further focus on patient outcomes while improving efficiencies.
The agreement marks the first time Dell will provide complete case management services to a hospital. Case management refers to the total administrative management of a patient’s treatment, typically from admission to discharge and follow-up. Dell will work with caregivers, social workers and long-term care providers to provide the reimbursement information needed for appropriate and compassionate length of stay decisions.
In order to achieve greater efficiencies in billing and payer reimbursement, TBHC will utilize Dell Services’ revenue cycle solutions. Dell will implement case management, patient access and patient accounting technologies to give TBHC rapid access to best-in-breed tools.
