Diversity Awards and Recognition

Dell has been recognized by numerous publications and multicultural groups for its diversity efforts.

2011

• Human Rights Campaign Corporate Equality Index
  Dell has earned a perfect score of 100 percent for the seventh consecutive time in the 2011 Corporate Equality Index, an annual survey administered by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation. The HRC reported that its efforts and companies such as Dell are protecting more than 9 million workers from discrimination in the workplace. 

2010

• Diversity MBA Magazine's Top 100 Diverse Executive & Emerging Leaders
  Curtis Campbell, a product manager for the Dell™ OptiPlex™ line and a member of the Building Relationships in Diverse Group Environments or the BRIDGE employee resource group, was named to Diversity MBA Magazine’s list of Top 100 under 50 Diverse Executive & Emerging Leaders list for 2010.

• DiversityInc's 25 Noteworthy Companies
  Dell was named to DiversityInc's list of 25 Noteworthy Companies, and noted for "...significant strides in creating an inclusive workplace and in supplier diversity." Companies were named to the list based on DiversityInc's evaluation of CEO commitment, human capital, corporate and organizational communications, and supplier diversity. This is the third year for Dell to be named to this list.

• ConnectMoms©, momcafé and Lisa Martin International© 2010 Progressive Employers (Canada)
  Dell Canada was named to the 2010 Progressive Employers of Canada list by ConnectMoms, momcafé and Lisa Martin International. Dell was recognized for its flexible working options, employees' benefits and environmental awareness programs.

• Great Place to Work® Institute, Inc. Top 50 Companies (Mexico)
  For the second year in a row, Dell Mexico was included in the top 50 list of companies based on credibility, pride, camaraderie, fairness and respect.

• Apertura Magazine's Great Places to Work List (Argentina)
  Apertura Magazine ranked Dell second on its list of great places to work, moving the company up a spot from its third place ranking in 2009.

• Network and Affinity Leadership Congress 2010 Above and Beyond Award
  aDellante, the Dell employee resource group for Hispanic employees, was recognized by the Network and Affinity Leadership Congress for its support of Dell business goals.

• Woman Engineer Magazine's Top 50 Employers
  Dell ranked 15th on the 19th Annual Top 50 Employers list in Woman Engineer Magazine.

• Working Mother Magazine's 100 Best Companies
  Working Mother Magazine named Dell to its 100 Best Companies list for the third time in 2010

• Minority Engineer Magazine's Top 50 Employers
  Dell ranked 46th on the 18th Annual Top 50 Employers list in Minority Engineer Magazine. 

• Corporate Responsibility Magazine's 100 Best Corporate Citizens 
  Corporate Responsibility Magazine announced its 100 Best Corporate Citizens for 2010, and Dell was included among the prestigious corporations on the list.

  Corporate Responsibility Magazine announced its 100 Best Corporate Citizens for 2009, and Dell was included among the prestigious corporations on the list.

• Working Mother Magazine's 100 Best Companies
  

  Working Mother Magazine named Dell to its 100 Best Companies list for the second time in 2009.

• Leadership Education for Asian Pacifics 2009 Corporate Governance Survey
  Dell was highlighted in a Leadership Education for Asian Pacifics report unveiling the findings of its 2009 Corporate Governance survey.

• AFAQ Professional Equality Label from the AFNOR Group
  Dell France received the AFAQ Professional Equality Label from the AFNOR Group, a France-based international standardization and certification organization, for a second time.

• U.K. Times Top 50 Companies Where Women Want to Work
  For the third consecutive year, Dell ranked in the U.K. Times newspaper’s annual report of the top 50 companies where women want to work.

• The Slovak Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs' Family-Friendly Employer Prize
  In 2009, Dell in Slovakia won the prestigious Family-Friendly Employer prize, awarded by the Slovak Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, for the third time.

• The Johnnetta B. Cole Global Diversity & Inclusion Institute Award
  Thurmond Woodard, former chief diversity officer for Dell, was inducted as the first member practitioner into the Johnnetta B. Cole Global Diversity & Inclusion Institute. Woodard received the award posthumously in recognition of his highly successful career as a diversity and inclusion executive, and for his contributions to the development and support of the next generation of diversity practitioners.

• Poder Enterprise Magazine's Tops 50 Companies
  Dell made the annual Top 50 Companies list in Poder Enterprise Magazine.

• Savoy Professional Magazine's Top 100 Companies to Work For
  Dell made the Savoy Professional Magazine's list of Top 100 Companies to Work for in 2009.

• DiversityInc's 25 Noteworthy Companies List
  Dell has been named to the DiversityInc's 25 Noteworthy Companies list.

2008

• America's Top Corporations for Women's Business Enterprises
  Dell has been selected as one of America’s Top Corporations for Women’s Business Enterprises (WBEs) for 2008.
• HRC Foundation Corporate Equality Index and Best Places to Work Survey
  The Human Rights Campaign Foundation, the educational arm of the nation's largest advocacy group for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender Americans, has awarded a 100 percent score to Dell on the Corporate Equality Index and Best Places to Work Survey. This is the fifth year in a row Dell has received a 100 percent score.
• Reader's Choice for Best Diversity Company
  Dell was given the Readers' Choice Award for Best Diversity Company by Diversity/Careers in Engineering & Information Technology Magazine.
• Slovak Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs' Family-Friendly Employer Award
  The Slovak Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs recognized Dell Slovakia with the Family-Friendly Award for its efforts to facilitate work/life balance. This prize is the most significant recognition of its kind in Slovakia.
• IMAGE Professional Woman of the Year Award
  Marie Moynihan, director of human resources for Dell Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), was given the IMAGE Professional Woman of the Year Award. The award honors and recognizes outstanding achievements of business women. IMAGE is the number one magazine for women in Ireland.
• BlackBerry Technology's Best Female Mentor 2008 Award
  Kate Bishop, director of human resources for Dell EMEA, was named as the Best Female Mentor 2008 in the BlackBerry Technology Awards for Women for her work in helping women advance their careers.
• DiversityInc's Top 10 Companies for Supplier Diversity
  Dell was named to the DiversityInc Top 10 Companies for Supplier Diversity.
• AFAQ Professional Equality Label from the AFNOR Group
  Dell France was the first IT company in France to receive the AFAQ Professional Equality Label from the AFNOR Group.
• DiversityBusiness.com's Top 50 Companies for Multicultural Business Opportunities
  Dell was ranked second by DiversityBusiness.com in its annual survey of Top 50 Companies for Multicultural Business Opportunities. For the second year in a row, Dell is the highest ranked technology company on the list.
• Women's Business Council-SouthWest Corporate Rising Star Award
  Dell received the Corporate Rising Star award from the Women’s Business Council-Southwest for its commitment to supplier diversity. Dell was also cited for its strategy in developing its supply chain.
• Working Mother Magazine's 100 Best Companies
  Working Mother Magazine named Dell to its 100 Best Companies list.

2007

• Working Mother Magazine's Top 20 "Green" Companies
  Dell was named as one of the Top 20 "Green" Companies in the United States. Working Mother Magazine's list recognizes companies that “demonstrate inspiring innovation — from the ingredients and creative packaging they use to how they build their facilities and run their manufacturing plants. Companies whose progressive thinking, inventive policies and pioneering spirit are helping to make the world a greener, cleaner place for our children.”
• Diversity/Careers in Engineering & Information Technology Magazine's Best Diversity Company Award
  Dell was recognized by readers of Diversity/Careers in Engineering & Information Technology Magazine as the Best Diversity Company for its support of minorities and women, attention to the work/life balance and commitment to supplier diversity.
• Latin Business Magazine's Fourth Annual Corporate Diversity Honor Roll
  Dell was once again listed in the magazine's Fourth Annual Corporate Diversity Honor Roll. The list recognizes U.S. companies that offer equal opportunities for the nation's minority communities, particularly Hispanics.

• U.S. Secretary of Labor's Opportunity Award
  Dell was honored with the 2005 Secretary of Labor's Opportunity Award. This is the highest award given by the U.S. Department of Labor to federal contractors for their voluntary diversity efforts.
• Financial Times Newspaper's World's Most Respected Companies
  In 2005, the Financial Times newspaper ranked Dell 11th overall among the world's most respected companies and fourth overall among the world's most respected IT companies.
• Fortune Magazine's America's Most Admired Companies
  Dell was third worldwide in Fortune Magazine's America's Most Admired Companies in 2005.
• Barron's List of Most-Respected Global Corporations
  Dell was listed seventh in Barron’s List of Most-Respected Global Corporations in 2005.
• Business Ethics Magazine's 100 Best Corporate Citizens
  In 2005, Dell was named in Business Ethics Magazine’s 100 Best Corporate Citizens list.
• Fortune Magazine's 100 Most Desirable MBA Employers
  In 2005, Fortune Magazine included Dell in its 100 Most Desirable MBA Employers list.
• UNCF's Frederick D. Patterson Award
  In 2004, the United Negro College Fund awarded Michael Dell the Frederick D. Patterson Award.
