Thomas W. Luce, III

Mr. Luce currently serves as president, chief executive officer and director of the National Math and Science Initiative, a nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding programs that have a proven impact on math and science. He served as the US Assistant Secretary of Education for Planning, Evaluation and Policy Development from July 1, 2005 until his resignation in September 1, 2006. From 1997 until 2005, Mr. Luce was a partner of the business advisory firm Luce & Williams Ltd. Before that, Mr. Luce had been a founding partner and managing partner of the law firm of Hughes & Luce, LLP, from 1973 until his retirement from the firm in 1997. He was a counsel with the law firm until December 2003.
