We are working with customers to prepare a generation of young people in the U.K. and across the globe to use technology to unleash their potential through breakthrough educational initiatives.

Dell YouthConnect

Dell YouthConnect is our signature philanthropy programme for digital inclusion that promotes education in math, science, literacy and technology skills for young people. Our YouthConnect programmes in the U.K. include:

Dell Youth ConnectAction for Children

Action for Children supports the most vulnerable young people in the U.K. Dell has been working with the organisation for the past seven years through the annual Byte Night event. The organisation is investing their YouthConnect grant on programmes which combine social care work and technology to help reduce common fears and frustrations of working with ICT. These programmes provide support to six projects clustered in Greater London and Glasgow, each intensively supporting a key group of eight to 12 young people and providing wider benefits for 60-plus young people per project.

Centre for Digital (CDI) Inclusion UK

Established in 2008, the U.K. division of CDI is setting its sights on enabling low-income communities to use, design and develop mobile and Web-based applications for positive social change and community action. The first step is a pilot program for 16-25 year olds, funded by a grant from Dell YouthConnect and centred on the use of smartphone technology, to teach them citizenship and social entrepreneurship.
