- Dell selected for five year Vendor of Record contract servicing the Ontario Association of Community Care Access Centres and its 14 CCACs
Ontario’s 14 CCACs serve more than 600,000 clients annually. Their initiatives help 120,000 seniors to continue to live in their communities, 2,000 children with complex and chronic diseases to go to school, 6,000 terminally ill people to be at home with their families and 50,000 clients to go from hospital to home each and every day.
These services and level of care are already supported by Dell technology, including a virtualized consolidated server environment, mobile solutions, electronic health records, VOIP capabilities and access to a province-wide Client Health Related Information System (CHRIS). Integrating the CCACs’ core business functions and applications while modernizing and automating the case management process, CHRIS enables healthcare integration to and from the community, providing for faster service delivery, reduced response time, improved cost efficiencies and a ‘greener’ environment.
The new contract with Dell takes the IT implementation to the next level. It includes more than 4,000 notebooks that will enable case managers to access client records wirelessly over 600 servers, facilitating the expansion of the Electronic Health Record (EHR) using DocuShare software and imaging, and Compellent tiered storage that will allow the CCACs to expand their storage capabilities using more efficient and less expensive storage solutions.
